(CNN) China's crashing stock market and cheap oil are seriously spooking the markets. The latest scare came on Thursday as China's stock market crashed 7% overnight, losses so severe that trading had to be halted for the day after the first half hour.
The Dow plunged as many as 320 points before cutting its losses Thursday. It's currently down about 150 points, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq are off around 1%.
The losses leave the Dow down 3.7% so far this year. That leaves the index on track for its worst four-day start to a year since 1991, according to FactSet.
