Which is worse: A gang of men barging into church services, yelling at congregants and the priest that their religion is false and that they're essentially are worshiping Satan – or – one unidentified man captured on a security camera putting strips of raw bacon on the exterior door handle of a religious building while no one was inside?
This question is no exaggeration. These events took place in Las Vegas.
The first situation was at several Catholic churches over a period of several months, and the second took place at one Muslim mosque in December.

What do you think was the result of those disturbances?
Since the Catholic Church incidents were recorded on video by the readily identifiable people disrupting the Masses, you might think there were charges and arrests.

If you were normal and sane, you might – but you'd be wrong.
Yes, it was investigated by Las Vegas Police, but at this point nothing has been done legally against the perpetrators.

As for the raw bacon on the door handle of the mosque, well, that turned into a federal case.
Oh yes, the local Vegas police are investigating but they've brought in the FBI because they say – get ready now – it is a possible hate crime.
Oh, of course.
It was a mosque – the Masjid-e-Tawheed mosque. Since the Quran prohibits Muslims from eating pork, putting the meat on the exterior handle of a locked door is being called by authorities the desecration of an Islamic worship center.
According to the AP, the suspect seen on a surveillance camera was a dark-haired, white man dressed in dark clothes. The FBI reported the incident happened early on Dec. 27.

No one was injured; no worshipers were there until later that day when police were called.
So not only was it a once-only situation with no damage or injuries but because it was a mosque, the FBI is also offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the identification of the culprit.
Five-thousand dollars?!
Oh yes, and that story has gotten national media coverage. You've probably heard or read about it.

OK, so fair is fair, isn't it?
What about the three incidents just last month in Las Vegas in which a crowd of men, some wearing T-shirts saying "Trust Jesus," stormed into Catholic churches during Mass?
Surely that story was picked up by the national media and you know about it.
You don't? Oh.
The men marched into the varied churches, lurched up the aisles, handed pamphlets to the parishioners and taunted the priests at the altars.
They screamed at the parishioners, telling them they have "sinned against God – broken all of his laws."
One of them was recording the incident on video and also shouted: "Guys, repent! And turn to Jesus Christ. Pope is a Satan! Mary statue is a Satan!"
The shouting continued: "Stop worshiping to the idols! Idols not going to save you! Your religion is not going to save you."
An interesting aspect of these disturbances is that the protesters call themselves Koosha Las Vegas, and they claim to be former Muslims who have converted to Christianity!
Before the church intrusions in December, they demonstrated around the city with megaphones and signs.
Now, in addition to all that, they've also caused disruptions at Catholic schools.
Through all of this, Las Vegas police have concluded that no laws have been broken, so no one has been charged.
One might ask why police don't consider that the protesters violated a Nevada statute, which forbids "disturbing a religious meeting"?
What about charges of trespassing? They barged into an active church service and disrupted it.
No wonder the congregants were frightened.
What about the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees religious liberty?
One might ask if the Las Vegas police and the FBI consider only Islam a religion to be protected and Catholicism a religion with which to be dispensed.
After all, they came up with a $5,000 reward for an act that was done in the dark by one person, and not one Muslim saw it take place.
In the Catholic churches, the men stormed in, shouting, filming, intimidating congregants and ridiculing their beliefs – totally disrupting the religious service.
I find it amazing that it didn't turn violent since the invaders just didn't shut up.
But, so far, no arrests, no reward offered and no one calls it a hate crime.
I find that amazing, too. But I don't find it surprising because, in this country today, the only untouchable religion is Islam.
Bill Donohue, executive director of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, says many laws have been broken here, including hate-crime statutes. He says Las Vegas Catholic churches "are being stormed by an organized band of crazed evangelicals known as Koosha Las Vegas who invade churches during Mass."
He wants arrests, charges and prosecution "with the full force of the law."
It's not bad enough that the police seem to have caved-in to political correctness but so too has the diocese, which is working with the police.
The Las Vegas Review Journal reported that Steve Meriweather, a diocese security consultant, said the main concern of the church "is keeping parishioners safe" and they're urging people to stay calm and call the police if it happens again.
Meriweather said the protesters have a right to hold different beliefs, but they shouldn't be disrupting services – especially so close to the Christmas holiday. (!)
Then he added, "The message is that we all need to get along."
To that, I would add: Gag me.
If that's the attitude of the church militant, all really is lost and Islam must be cheering.
