Rupert Murdoch to wed Mick Jagger's ex-wife

Rupert Murdoch, 84, of 21st Century Fox and News Corp. fame, and Jerry Hall, former famous model and ex-wife of Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger, are due to marry.

The two announced their engagement in a brief note in the British newspaper the Times, one of Murdoch's News Corp. products.

"Mr Rupert Murdoch, father of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, James, Grace and Chloe Murdoch, and Miss Jerry Hall, mother of Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel Jagger, are delighted to announce their engagement," the ad read, Reuters reported.

A spokesman for Fox, meanwhile. confirmed the engagement.

"They have loved these past months together," the company said in a statement. "[They're] thrilled to be getting married and excited about their future together."

Murdoch has been married three times before; Hall, 59, had a long-running relationship with Jagger that ended in divorce.

Murdoch's looming nuptials come on the heels of a widely reported business turnover that saw him hand over leadership posts at Fox and News Corp. to his sons, James and Lachlan. The former is now CEO of 21st Century Fox; the latter, co-chairman of Fox and News Corp., with his father.
