"Sources also said the incident was not sexual in nature and the woman is not a prostitute," CBS News reported.
The argument reportedly started after the woman, who's not been publicly named, told Spitzer she was leaving to head back to Russia.

CBS News reported the woman was hospitalized later that evening – but for a suicide attempt she made that same night, not for the alleged attack.
"The woman ... made an attempt to cut her wrists at the hotel," CBS News reported. "She was taken to Roosevelt Hospital. That's when she told doctors that she was allegedly assaulted by Spitzer."
News outlets reported the woman has stopped cooperating with police and is refusing to press any charges against Spitzer.
Spitzer, meanwhile, has not be charged or even questioned by detectives, CBS News said. And a spokesman for Spitzer, Lisa Linden, said: "There is no truth to the allegation."
