(WASHINGTON TIMES) A Republican National Committee member in Nevada tweeted Monday that GOP presidential candidates Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz “are ineligible.”
“Rubio and Cruz are ineligible,” Diana Orrock wrote, linking to an article from conservative activist Devvy Kidd, Talking Points Memo first reported.
In her post, Ms. Kidd argued that Sen. Rubio is ineligible because neither of his parents were U.S. citizens at the time of his birth. She also said that despite Sen. Cruz being born to an American mother, his father wasn’t a U.S. citizen at the time of his birth in Calgary, Alberta, which makes him ineligible.
