A “60 Minutes” crew from Australia was attacked by “African masked men” as it filmed footage for a story on Europe’s refugee crisis.

A cameraman and a producer were confronted by the group in Stockholm, Sweden, who did not want anyone questioning migrants. The attackers ran over one man’s foot, assaulted two others, and threw bottles.

One cameraman “was beaten right across the chin so that a tooth [came] loose,” local journalist Jan Sjunnesson wrote for the website Avpixlat after the incident, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Tuesday.

Sjunnesson said the men waited until policemen assigned to protect the crew inexplicably left before they pounced.

“[Reporter] Liz Hayes and a 60 Minutes crew are currently on assignment in Europe where they are reporting a story about the migrant crisis,” Australia’s Channel 9 said in a statement released Tuesday. “In a suburb of Stockholm yesterday they were confronted by a group who objected to them filming. There was a series of scuffles and the police were called. The 60 Minutes cameraman and producer were slightly injured but filming continued with police at the scene.”

The station declined to give further comment for the newspaper’s story, but said Sjunnesson’s depiction of events was “accurate.” The “60 Minutes” broadcast is scheduled to air within weeks.

Crime in Sweden has surged since the influx of migrants began last year. Roughly 163,000 migrants applied for asylum in the Scandinavian country in 2015, which made it the highest per capita destination in Europe.

“We have to go to work against unrest in the asylum centers, which places a much greater demand than might appear outwardly,” National Police Commissioner Dan Eliasson told the Express on Jan. 27. “In some places in Sweden this eats significant resources out of the police’s capability. From several sources there are reports that staff are poorly prepared to handle violence, threats and conflicts while there are too few security guards.”

The nation also made global headlines when an employee at a migrant reception center was killed on Jan. 25.

Alexandra Mezher, 22, was slain in Mölndal while trying to break up a fight between two teenagers. The young woman died of stab wounds inflicted by a migrant. Somali refugee Youssaf Khaliif Nuur, 15, has been charged with her murder.
