(NYDAILYNEWS) — A 10-year-old Alabama boy was lauded for his heroism after steering a truck to safety when the driver suffered a diabetic episode.
Christopher Wheeler, of Montgomery, was riding with neighbor Alfred Smith Thursday when the 70-year-old started losing consciousness.

The truck weaved across the lanes on Interstate 65, running other vehicles off the road.
"He got sick and he was swerving across the road," the boy told NBC affiliate WSFA. "He started getting sweaty and said he needed a piece of candy."
