"If I were to vote tomorrow, I'd probably vote for Trump," Ditka said while on the "Bernie and Sid Show," the Sporting News reported.

The 1985 NFL Super Bowl champion said one of the reasons he would vote for Trump is because the U.S. is "devoid of leadership" at the moment.
"Obama is the worst president we've ever had," Ditka said. "I mean, he’s pleasant. He would be great to play golf with. He’s not a leader. This country needs leadership. It needs direction. It needs somebody that steps up front. We need somebody like Ronald Reagan."

Ironically, Ditka counts his decision not to run for Illinois' open senate seat in 2004 as one of the worst decisions of his life. Jack Ryan, the Republican nominee at the time, was knocked out of the race due to a sex scandal. Obama sailed to victory without Ditka in the race and went on to become the commander in chief four years later.

"Biggest mistake I’ve ever made," Ditka said in October 2013, the Chicago Tribune reported. "Not that I would have won, but I probably would have, and he wouldn’t be in the White House."
The ESPN analyst also took time to address Democrat front-runner Hillary Clinton's claim that Republicans act in ways reminiscent of America's "Jim Crow past."
Ditka said her comments were "filthy" and made him want to "throw up."
Illinois will hold its Republican primary March 15.
