(POLITICO) — The warm-up act at a Donald Trump event in Hickory, North Carolina, took an unexpected approach to warming up the crowd, calling on Sen. Bernie Sanders to have a "come to Jesus" moment.
Pastor Mark Burns, who spoke before Trump sat down for an interview with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, said that the Vermont senator needed to be saved.
"Bernie Sanders who doesn't believe in God. How in the world are we going to let Bernie? I mean really? Listen, Bernie gotta get saved. He gotta meet Jesus. He gotta have a come to Jesus meeting," Burns said before Trump and Christie sat down for their question-and-answer session.
