(ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY) — Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs is putting his money where his rhymes are and investing in a new charter school in Harlem. The Capital Preparatory Harlem Charter School is set to open in Fall 2016.
The father of six spent the last five years meeting with education experts and community leaders looking for ways to improve educational opportunities in the area and ultimately teamed with Renowned Capital Preparatory Schools for the project, according to a release.
“Creating this school is a dream come true for me. I want to impact the lives of young people in my community, and build future leaders. The first step is offering access to a quality education,” the rapper said in a statement. “Every young person should have the tools they need to succeed. All our children should be able to pursue their dreams. That is something I can impact with this school.”
