Joe Biden, vice president and once-upon-a-time Democratic Party hopeful for president, said both Sen. Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton have their good sides, but he’d really like to see a woman in the White House.

The ‘Stop Hillary’ campaign is on fire! Join the surging response to this theme: ‘Clinton for prosecution, not president’

“[I’d] like to see a woman elected,” Biden said, adding that both Democratic candidates are “totally qualified” for the job, CNN reported.

He made the comments while speaking to Mic in an interview that started about sexual-assault prevention but soon after strayed to examination of recent public spats between Sanders and Clinton.

“They’re both totally qualified to be president,” Biden said. “They both get in a fight. Campaigns do this.”

He also said Clinton is hardly held to any sort of higher standard, simply because she’s a woman.

Just in time for the 2016 election, hear Hillary Clinton say she would NOT run for president, in “Hillary Unhinged” by Thomas Kuiper

“This country’s ready for a woman [president],” Biden said. “There’s no problem. We’re going to be able to elect a woman in this country. I would like to see a woman elected. … Hillary’s overwhelmingly qualified to be president.”

Despite the high praise for Clinton, Biden refused to offer a formal endorsement, saying he’d much prefer to “let the party decide.”
