(Western Journalism) Sen. John McCain who is already facing a tough re-election campaign, received another blow this week after a Phoenix woman arrested on drug charges was identified as a fundraiser for his campaign.
Emily Pitha and Christopher Hustrulid were taken into custody Tuesday after Hustrulid allegedly signed for a package containing 250 grams of Ecstasy. After raiding the house where the two lived, police reported finding an active meth lab, a quarter-pound of methamphetamine, 10 hits of LSD, about 2 grams of cocaine, several grams of heroin, several hundred Ecstasy pills, marijuana and hash oil plus about $7,000 and counterfeit cash.
In a statement released Wednesday, McCain campaign manager Ryan O’Daniel said the campaign has "terminated any relationship" with Pitha, who was working as a consultant arranging fundraisers for McCain.
