A photograph of a bronzed Martin Luther King Jr. statue with a red Donald Trump “Make America Great Again” cap posted on Instagram has sent social media into a frenzy, with upset individuals posting messages that describe the image as “disrespectful,” “disgusting,” and worse.

The ‘Stop Hillary’ campaign is on fire! Join the surging response to this theme: ‘Clinton for prosecution, not president’

The photo of the University of South Florida statue was distributed by “students4trump” on Instagram, alongside the caption: “Pretty self explanatory,” the Hill reported.

And shortly after, the photo generated more than 1,700 comments.

Aside from calling the photo “disgusting” and “disrespectful,” critical posters demanded the Instagram be taken off the site.

One wrote: “Needs to come down!!”

Do you support Donald Trump’s no-nonsense candidacy? Tell the world with this brand new magnetic bumper sticker: “DONALD TRUMPS THE REST”

Another: “Just reported this 10x. I encourage everyone else to do the same not only for this picture but for this account.”

And another: “HA YUP! MLK LOVED RACISM.”
