Sarah Palin, former governor of Alaska and vice presidential candidate, took to Facebook to issue a strongly worded response to rapper Azealia Banks, saying the musician’s call for her to be gang raped was simply a show of her low IQ.

She also indicated she’s taking legal action against the rapper, Time reported.

“I’ve had enough of the unanswered threats and attacks against my family and me,” she said, in an interview with People magaZine. “So, for the first time, I’m going to enjoy the only retribution some protected ‘celebrities’ seem to understand – I’m suing Azealia Banks and can’t wait to share my winnings with others who have gone defenseless against lies and dangerous attacks far too long.”

Her Facebook post didn’t indicate a lawsuit, but was condemning, just the same.

“Hey Female Rapper – listen up, little darling,” Palin wrote. “No one has any idea what you’re wigging out about in these bizarre, violent rants against me, but you’re obviously not exercising enough intelligence to acknowledge you’ve been sucked into believing some fake interview in which I supposedly offered comments representing the antithesis of my truth.”

Palin’s comments came after Banks took to Twitter to slam the former governor over what turned out to be a satirical article. The fake quotes attributed to Palin in the hoax story painted her as saying blacks “liked” slavery.

On that, Banks tweeted, WND previously reported: “[Palin] needs to have her hair saved off to a buzz cut, get headf–d by a big, veiny, ashy, black d– then be locked in a cupboard.”

She also tweeted: “Honestly … Let’s find the biggest burliest blackest negroes and let them run a train on her. Film it and put it on worldstar.”

The tweets were deleted shortly after.

Banks reacted to Palin’s lawsuit threat by going off on a racial tirade on Tumblr.

“Despite their best efforts to conceal the contempt and envy that the cracker has for Blacks and other people of color … hey just can’t hide it and it’s seeping from the seams of their being,” Banks wrote Thursday. “I’m 100 percent positive that the police killings, cultural appropriation, Trump and Palin etc. represent the contempt that whitey shares for this intangible , uncontrollable new black mind that’s been steeping for a while now. The mind born of very intelligent and real conversations/confrontations around American Racism. […] F–k whitey.”

Prior to Palin’s response, Banks had posted an apology saying, “I actually, really like you. … While many other American people may see you as someone to be ridiculed, I truly believe that you possess a certain ‘je ne sais quoi,’ (a french term which is often interpreted to denote one’s inexplicable charisma.) Given a bit of book-reading/media-training/patience, that charisma could become your magic carpet. There is something very charismatic and misunderstood about you. The misunderstood bit oftentimes reminds me of myself.  … All in All, Woman to Woman, I hope you will accept my sincerest apology.”
