(ABC7NEWS) — SAN RAMON, Calif. (KGO) --Students at an East Bay high school will begin LGBTQ acceptance week -- despite some parents who said they would pull their kids from class if it happened.
There were about 20 concerned parents met with the San Ramon Valley School District superintendent and asked for LGBTQ appreciation week be cancelled. The event has been modified; the principal at Windemere Ranch Middle School in San Ramon won't be showing all the videos as originally planned to the kids.
It all started when some students didn't like what they were hearing others say.

"The kids have been really concerned about hearing words like 'you're so gay,' and 'that's so gay'" said parent Jennifer Ottley.
