Ben Carson, the former neurosurgeon-turned-presidential candidate, issued a scathing warning for Americans about the fate of the nation, likening the country to a cruise ship poised to go off the deep end.

“America, right now, is like a cruise ship that is about to go off of Niagara Falls with tremendous carnage and death,” he said, during a “Fox & Friends” televised interview. “What you have to do first is recognize the problem, stop the ship, turn it around and then move in the other direction.”

Carson, who quit his White House run and endorsed Donald Trump for president, also spoke of a possible third-party candidate to emerge to challenge the billionaire businessman in critical terms.

“I’m hoping that whoever that third-party candidate is will just stop for a moment and think about what the implications are of allowing Hillary Clinton or someone like her to get in there,” he said, the Blaze reported. “They get two to four Supreme Court pics and completely change the nature of this country and destroy the prospects for their children and their grandchildren to have the same opportunities that they had.”

His views of a third-party challenge came just hours after Bill Kristol, the neoconservative editor of the Weekly Standard and the face of the NeverTrump movement that’s calling for another candidate to beat the billionaire businessman, took to Twitter to promise an “indpendent candidate” with an “impressive” resume and “a strong team and a real chance” would step forward in the coming days, as reported by WND.
