(Politico) The House Freedom Caucus helped drive former Speaker John Boehner out of office.
Now, Boehner's successor is the newest member of the group of conservative hardliners.
The group voted Tuesday to invite newly sworn-in Rep. Warren Davidson (R-Ohio) to join, which he accepted, according to a Freedom Caucus source.

House Freedom Caucus Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was an early supporter of Davidson and helped recruit him to fill Boehner’s seat after the former speaker headed for the exits.
