(MCCLATCHY) Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi teased Congress on Wednesday for its apparently international reputation of not doing its job.
“Mr. Speaker, I’m informed that the working of the U.S. Congress is harmonious,” Modi chided in his address to a Joint Meeting of Congress, which was received by lawmakers with laughter and applause. “I’m also told that you are well known for your bipartisanship.”
“Well, you are not alone. Time and again, I also witness a similar ‘spirit’ in the Indian Parliament.
