Every TV pundit and high-paid consultant has been predicting that Donald Trump will and must become more presidential to win the general election. What does "presidential" mean, anyway?
Conservatives have fallen for a leftist media narrative that a Republican must act handle their opponents on the left and in the media kindly even when they lie about them and attack them.
President Bush, at the direction of Karl Rove, acted presidential. They called it "staying above the fray" and "respecting the office of the president." All that meant was that Bush would not push back against any attacks from the left.

The media loved Bush's "presidential" attitude. They could say or print anything they pleased about the president, and he would not respond or correct the record.

Then there was Sen. John McCain.
He was a very presidential candidate. He actually spent time on the campaign trail talking about how great his opponent, Barack Obama, would be as president!

And we all watched Mitt Romney lose to Obama in 2012 by acting "presidential" and handling Obama with kid gloves during the last few months of the presidential race in 2012. Romney teed up Trump's presidential run beautifully by being such a "presidential," a.k.a. weak candidate.
Contrast Bush, McCain and Romney with Trump taking on the dishonest mainstream media by calling them "sleaze."

Trump is taking it to Hillary Clinton, too. Earlier this week, Trump said something that so many of us have been saying for years!
Trump said Hillary "has to go to jail!"
The press don't call this "presidential," but the average American voter has been thirsting for a candidate who will go on the offensive against the left and the mainstream media.

I said on Hannity this week that, as Trump is destroying the GOP establishment and the Democrat establishment, he is also taking out the mainstream media.
Anyone who has been hoping for a change in Trump's demeanor will have to keep waiting.
Establishment politicians and old-guard media wince when Trump speaks, but Americans are cheering at their TV screens. Trump has changed the rules, and by the time he is done, the word "presidential" will have a much different meaning.
