Two court bailiffs were killed Monday in a shooting attack at the Berrien County Courthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan, authorities reported.
The gunman also was killed when he got into a shootout with a deputy sheriff there.
Details remained unclear but Sheriff Paul Bailey said the attack, shooting and resolution all came within a matter of about a half an hour.
Authorities said a gunman shot three people, and two bailiffs were killed. The third target of the gunman was a deputy sheriff who was injured.
According to an ABC report, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder tweeted when the police secured the scene, and Fox confirmed that the governor later said the investigation was begun.
