Paris terrorism
This week I was going to write Part II on the jobs best suited for men vs. women in prepping, but the national and international terrorist attacks on police and civilians has been troubling me so much that I felt the need to lay out the case for a reordering of prepper acquisition priorities.
Also, my wife has been too busy this week to help me determine my opinion of appropriate male and female roles. I will let you know what I think on this important topic next week, assuming she gets around to making up my mind.

"And if police organizations and departments acknowledge that there's a problem and there's an issue, then that, too, is going to contribute to real solutions. And, as I said yesterday, that is what's going to ultimately help make the job of being a cop a lot safer. It is in the interest of police officers that their communities trust them and that the kind of rancor and suspicion that exists right now is alleviated."

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

"We have a great opportunity ... to really transform how we think about community law enforcement relations. ..."
Folks, most of you have heard the term "Social Justice Warrior." Probably a large percentage of you even know what a SJW is. Urban Dictionary provides a short, but broadly correct, definition: "Usually people that need to believe they are fighting for social justice in order to feel validated regardless of whether their arguments have any logic or truth to them."
Barak Obama isn't a social justice warrior. No, really, he's not. He's a social justice warlord. He uses regular SJWs to push his own agendas.

Social justice warrior hard at work
As an example, back in 2008, then-candidate Obama argued for a powerful well-funded federal police force. However when any supporter of Constitutional limitations called Obama on his desire, the SJWs attacked en masse, calling the questioner a (pick one) racist/tool of the NRA/ fascist/Nazi/all of the above. Oh, and a liar. Always a liar. "Oh yeah? Where's his army? Where's the federal police force? Nowhere ... you racist, homophobic, sexist liar!!!"
And of course, by carefully defining and limiting the argument, the SJWs and their handlers were correct. They always are, when they use this tactic. Our government rarely goes for its desires in a single shot. Instead they've developed a much more subtle mechanism for achieving their goals.
They don't make something illegal, they simply make it impossible. They don't create a new thing, they simply task an old thing to new purposes.

As an historic example, consider the Eighteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution:
Section 1. After one year from the ratification of this article the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors within, the importation thereof into, or the exportation thereof from the United States and all the territory subject to the jurisdiction thereof for beverage purposes is hereby prohibited.
Note please, you could still drink booze. You could still own booze. You just couldn't make it, buy it or transport it. In doing this, whole new agencies were born and old agencies were given new and sweeping powers; powers they retained even after the amendment was repealed.
So here's how you give birth to a federal police force without calling it a federal police force:

- Find a situation where a police force has had a serious altercation with a protected minority class. Create that conflict if expedient.
- Mobilize the SJWs to attack those police forces as an "-ist."
- Drum up protests, get op-eds written, have political fellow-travelers demand a federal investigation.
- Get or require the policing authority in question to admit a mistake or a wrong-doing.
- Begin a long and open-ended Justice Department investigation, usually with specific law enforcement officers under indictment.
- Appoint federal liaisons (read: controllers) to those police departments, and require those law enforcement organizations to receive training based on federal guidelines.
- Make sure all new agency hires fall within acceptable federal requirements for race, ethnicity, sex and sexual orientation.
- Finally, no matter what the result of the investigation shows, maintain all of the above, especially the "liaisons."
Voilà! Another solid brick in the civilian national security force wall.
Of course there are other tools in the federal tool box, like giving smaller policing forces military equipment (with strings attached). But there will absolutely not be a civilian national security force. Instead there will be, as always, local constabularies, city cops, state troopers, local and state park rangers, etc., – all under federal control.
Another example? Anyone remember this?

"A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that's what I'd like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately." – Barack Obama, 2003
Now go back up to the steps listed above and use the same train of steps for gun confiscation.
In a lot of my previous columns concerning firearms, we've seen the inevitable SJW comments demanding proof that the feds have ever confiscated any guns. As they carefully define and limit the argument, they are hard to refute. There have been no massive door-to-door raids to confiscate citizen-owned firearms for one simple reason: it won't work and would lead to civil war.

More hard-working social justice warriors
Instead, we'll get more of what we've been given. More SJW attacks on "gun" violence. More op-eds demanding change. More soulful speeches by the president on the need for more "common sense" restrictions.
The results will be more specific classes of weapons banned. More small classes of citizens denied their Second Amendment rights for "their own protection." Greater and more restrictive and more expensive registration requirements. Higher taxes on ammunition. Steeper penalties for infractions.
You like your ammo? You can keep your ammo. (But you won't be buying any more.)
You like your gun? You can keep your gun. (But if you want another, oh brother!)
Given the events of the last couple of weeks, I decided to postpone the truly fun topic of men and women prepping because what I have to say right now is of immediately greater importance. The terroristic shootings we've seen lately are going to increase in frequency and ferocity. The pressure on weenie RINO politicals by progressive fellow-travellers is only going to increase. The president is going to cry some more. Easy solutions, right or wrong, are going to become more attractive ... and easier to sell. Real solutions require work – and don't produce government benefits.
If part of your prepper plans include getting weapons for your own defense and the defense of others, please – please – quickly move those plans from "I'll get around to it" to "I've got it done." Put that extra bag of beans off till next week and get that extra box of cartridges now. Today.
Check the "buy and sell" publications right now. Get thee to the gun show right now. Head for the gun store and buy more ammunition, right now. Form a buyers club and buy in bulk. Right now.
And don't listen to the SJWs. They are liars. Look to facts and history instead.
Past behavior is indicative of present intent, especially when a government is after your liberty.
Get busy. Get armed for your self-defense. Get prepared.
