Ted Cruz's fine speech (approved by Trump ahead of time, though they now complain about its contents) was a powerful call to return to conservative principles, and a stirring defense of liberty and conscience. It should have been praised from the house tops, but because it didn't include three words, is now horrible and the man who delivered it now evil.
I could not be any prouder of that great man. He went way further in congratulating Trump than I could have, after the despicable lies and personal attacks on his family and faith. Ted is a FAR better man than I. I call him Ted Telemachus. I call him my new American hero.
At enormous cost to himself, he stood up and spoke truth to power. This speech likely ruined his career, but I doubt we'll hear Ted complain. This gentleman has shown time and again he lives his life for an audience of One. And He is, right now, smiling down at Cruz, for paying the price to do what is right. Someone had to do it.
