Among liberals and progressives, psychological projection, i.e., attributing one's own repressed thoughts to someone else, is rampant. It's a defense that hides their inner feelings and impulses (e.g., endemic left-wing racism, sexism, class envy, bigotry and overall bitterness).

In this case, Kirchick warns of a military coup should Trump become president. This scenario is the rubbish of nonsense. However, had Kirchick substituted Hillary, despised in military circles, for Trump in his piece, then, and only then, does the coup scenario exhibit signs of life.
