Obama’s ’emotional attachment’ to Islam ‘has hurt USA’

The influence of Islam on President Obama’s upbringing has circled around his presidency since the beginning.

It’s undisputed his African family is Muslim. His father was, his stepfather was, he was listed officially as a Muslim in elementary school in Indonesia and he even once referred to “my Muslim faith” in an interview, only to be corrected by his interviewer.

He’s even described the Islamic call to prayer as the most beautiful sound on earth.

Now, as his tenure in the Oval Office comes to a close, top-rated Fox News host Bill O’Reilly is leveling a serious charge – that Obama has an attachment to Islam that has damaged the United States.

In a commentary on Wednesday, he said, “Many Americans, including this one, believe Barack Obama’s emotional attachment to the Muslim world has hurt the USA.

“There is no question that the Obama administration’s greatest failure is allowing the Islamic terror group ISIS to run wild, murdering thousands of innocent people all over the world, including many Muslims,” he said. “Mr. Obama has never acknowledged this mistake, nor does he define the ISIS threat accurately.”

He continued: “That group is killing innocent people in order to impose a radical version of Islam on the world. The jihad is solely based on theology, perverted as it may be.”

O’Reilly pointed out, as have others, that Obama “will not even use the words Islamic terrorism.”

And then Obama announced this week that the U.S. will leave 8,000 troops in Afghanistan.

Even there, O’Reilly said, “the president did not accurately describe the situation … that it was more about politics than Islamic terror.”

Obama said the U.S. is supporting an Afghan-led reconciliation process and other nations should “end safe havens for militants and terrorists.”

“But they are not just militants and terrorists,” O’Reilly said. “They are Islamic-driven killers who protected al-Qaida before 9/11.”

He said Obama will not describe terror accurately because his father was a Muslim who turned atheist. His stepfather also was Muslim, and he spent years “exposed to the Islamic world.”

O’Reilly said Obama appeared in Muslim garb at his half-brother’s wedding in the 1990s, “which we believe was held in Maryland.”

He published photos to document that, including this one:

O’Reilly pointed out his own Catholic faith and how he objected to leaders who were caught up in acts of child abuse.

“Barack Obama should do what I did – aggressively call out those who abuse the Muslim faith, who commit atrocities under a religious banner. He should make defeating the jihad a central issue and stop trying to diminish Islamic terrorism by avoiding the simple truth – radical Islam is a direct threat to the entire world. Whether they live in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria or Africa, it is Islamic killers who are the central problem on this planet,” he said.

Although O’Reilly said it was hard to determine the circumstances of the photos, the London Daily Mail said Malik Obama was married in 1981 for the first time, and Barack Obama was his best man.

“He now has multiple wives,” the report said.

Malik Obama also was Barack Obama’s best man when he married Michelle.

Obama, who has stated since before his election he is Christian, has nonetheless raised questions by his actions, such as his insistence on using the term “freedom of worship” instead of the constitutionally correct freedom of religion.

It was early in Obama’s tenure that Catholic Online and other media outlets reported what appeared to be a deliberate misdirection regarding the First Amendment right.

Catholic Online noted that in President Obama’s June 2009 speech in Cairo, Egypt, he spoke of a Muslim America and the nation’s “freedom of religion,” but by the November 2009 memorial for the Fort Hood soldiers gunned down by a homicidal Muslim, he was terming it “freedom of worship.”

From that point, “freedom of worship” has become the term of choice, the report said.

Sarah Torre of the Heritage Foundation said the difference is significant. In practice, the “freedom to worship” seldom has been challenged or even questioned. But “freedom of religion” is under direct fire.

O’Reilly said: “I believe he’s a Christian. I’m not one of these guys who says he’s a Muslim. But I don’t think he’s a devout Christian.”

But he lamented, “President Obama’s sympathetic treatment of Muslims put the country in danger because he has not elevated the risks that we have to the level it should be.

“And he allowed ISIS to be created because of his foolish decision to withdraw troops in Iraq and to pretty much run wild for five years. So another president, angry about the jihad, would not have done that.”

The London Telegraph in 2008 reported that Hillary Clinton used “shameful” smear tactics against Obama “after a picture of him wearing tribal robes and headgear” in Kenya was circulated.

That image came from Obama’s 2006 trip to Wajir, in Kenya, and attracted wide attention.

WND reported that Malik and President Obama’s African step-grandmother, Sara, in 2011 established the Barack H. Obama Foundation as a nonprofit in the U.S., and were given approval from the IRS even while that agency was targeting conservative and tea-party groups.

In 2014, WND reported Malik developed a partnership with a David Koresh-style cult in Texas headed by self-professed prophet and polygamist Yisrayl Hawkins in a project to build rebuild the temple in Jerusalem.
