(NEW YORK POST) – In an about-face, Donald Trump is going to be announcing his VP choice before the the Republican National Convention, it was reported Friday.
Trump had been saying for weeks he was saving the announcement for the July 18-21 Cleveland convention.
But Trump aides leaked the word Friday to several media outlets that the strategy had changed and the VP nominee would be named sooner rather than later.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich are among the candidates being vetted by the campaign.
Meanwhile, Trump spoke to a gathering of the Western Conservative Summit in Denver Friday as protesters clashed outside and cops made several arrests.
