(CHICAGO TRIBUNE) — A female college student who competed on a boys water polo team at a Chicago-area high school said in a nationally televised interview that she was sexually assaulted by an opposing player during a game last year.
In an interview with ESPN that aired over the weekend, Rebecca Dabrowski said a player from Libertyville High School assaulted her under the water while she was playing for McHenry West High School.
According to the segment on the sports network's "Outside the Lines" program, Dabrowski reported the alleged assault within days to police in Buffalo Grove, where the match took place, but authorities closed the case without pressing charges. Buffalo Grove police were not immediately available to comment.
