CNN host Fareed Zakaria, abandoning any pretense of journalistic objectivity on live TV Monday, accused GOP nominee Donald Trump of being a "bullsh-- artist."
Zakaria told CNN's Wolf Blitzer Trump:

"Every time it is demonstrated that Donald Trump is plainly ignorant about some basic public policy issue, some well-known fact, he comes back with a certain bravado and tries to explain it away with a tweet or a statement.
"He did it on Brexit, he did it on the nuclear triad, he really did it on how the U.S. debt markets work, he thought that Tim Kaine was the governor of New Jersey, and now with this."

Zakaria said it may be entertaining for Americans to watch Trump in action, but the issue is serious because Trump may be elected president in November.

"It's sort of amusing, to watch — how's he going to pull it off this time," Zakaria said. "What is he going to argue?
"Usually, he adds that the press hates him. But there's a term for this kind of thing: This is the mode of a bullsh-- artist. And it's sometimes amusing, it's entertaining if a guy's trying to sell you a condo or a car. But for a president of the United States, it's deeply worrying.”
Late Monday, CNN released a poll showing Hillary with a nine-point lead over Trump (52 percent to 43 percent) following the Republican and Democratic Party conventions.
Also Monday, Trump ripped CNN in a firestorm of tweets, accusing the network of being a "press shop for Hillary Clinton" and questioning why CNN hasn't reported on "Clinton Foundation corruption and Hillary's pay-to-play at [the] State Department":
