Pastor offers viral letter to protect NON-transgender kids

President Obama’s directive requiring all public schools to open girls’ rooms and locker rooms to males who “identify” as female got two setbacks Wednesday – one shock ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court and another from a pastor who is providing parents of non-transgender students with the tools to protect their children.

Pastor Carl Gallups, author of “Be Thou Prepared: Equipping the Church for Persecution and Times of Trouble,” is offering a “Notice of Compliance Letter” to be used by parents to protect their children. It has been downloaded thousands of times already.

According to the Obama administration’s own “Dear Colleague Letter on Transgender Students,” schools have “a responsibility to provide a safe and nondiscriminatory environment for all students, including transgender students.”

Furthermore, “harassment that targets a student based on gender identity, transgender status, or gender transition is harassment based on sex, and the departments enforce Title IX accordingly,” the Obama administration said.

Solutions can include “individual-user options” being made available to all students who voluntarily seek additional privacy.

The Supreme Court in a separate action stopped a lower court’s order that officials at a Virginia school district allow a girl to use the boys’ room because she says she identifies as a boy.

Gallups simply notes Title IX also applies to non-transgendered children. Therefore, parents can use the letter he has prepared to obtain these safe, “harassment free” accommodations for their children. This means they can have individual-use accommodations, without having to be exposed in sensitive situations to people who “identify” as a member of the opposite sex.

Gallups says he did plenty of research before creating the document.

“I had meetings with several school officials (I am not yet at liberty to say who they are),” he told WND. “One of the meetings was with an extremely high-ranking school official. They explained to me their deep concern with the Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) and how they need to implement it without going beyond the line of decency, safety, and sanctity for the non-transgendered students. I explained to them what I intended to do – regarding drafting the letter and compelling school boards all across the nation to comply with Title IX protections for non-transgendered students as well.”

Gallups said all he is doing is asking the bureaucracy to enforce its own rules.

“The language of the DCL itself contains the language needed to secure protection for non-transgendered students,” he observed. “I have had subsequent communication with a very prominent school board member who understands what I am doing and sees the legal usefulness of the letter. Their main concern is that they feel they need backing from the Florida governor’s office, state Department of Education, and the attorney general’s office. I sympathize with that concern, however, I feel the first line of defense in protecting our local children, in our local public schools is from our local elected officials and school administrators. That is where the water hits the wheel the fastest. It is the local schools that are ‘under the mandate.'”

As most schools have not yet reopened, Gallups said he doesn’t know if any parents have submitted the letter yet. But he said the response on his own website and social networking sites has been massive. And he predicts the response in the fall will put the Obama administration on the defensive.

“My contention is that when these ‘compliance letters’ begin to pour in, that the school boards will then have a tool with which they can petition their state officials,” Gallups said. “They can ask: ‘What should we do? We have to enforce Title IX regulations for the protection of the non-transgenders as well, don’t we?'”

Gallups predicts the resulting legal confusion will compel change.

“I don’t think state officials would dare say, ‘No, don’t obey Title IX with non-transgendered, only obey it with transgendered students.’ Once this question is raised at the state and national level, perhaps something more rational and sane will develop.

“The bottom line is that if the local school fails to comply with the parent’s legitimate Title IX requirements (as clearly spelled out in the DCL itself) then it’s time to pull your kids out of the public school and let the Title IX lawsuits begin. If the radical homosexual agenda can do it, so can ‘we the people.'”

Parents around the country have expressed concerns about the potentially dangerous situations their children will be exposed to because of the Obama administration’s new regulations concerning transgenders. Gallups highlighted the absurdity by imagining how a parent or pastor would react if placed in the same situation as local schools forced to cater to those with subjective “gender identities.”

“Imagine you were managing a church retreat,” said Gallups, describing his example. “What if you told the retreat leaders: ‘If a boy feels more like a girl on the retreat, allow him to shower, dress and use the restroom with the girls. Furthermore, under no circumstances ask him to prove his gender nor ask for his parents’ input.’ If something happened or if a little girl was exposed to something she shouldn’t be, you’d get in a lot of trouble, probably even accused of a sexual crime and certainly sued. Yet this is precisely what the federal government is ordering our schools to do.”

“Why are children given protection everywhere except in a public school?” asked Gallups. “It is an insane policy. And it is unsafe for children.”

Ultimately, however, Gallups says it is a moral issue. It is about whether Christians can continue to exist in a country that is turning away from God and become “depraved.” Gallups said his new initiative provides parents not just with a safe and legal way to protect their kids, but to take a stand for what is right.

“The Bible says to render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and unto God what is God’s,” he said. “Those are the words of Jesus. Our children do not belong to Caesar, they belong to God and to us. They are entrusted to us for their ultimate safety. Caesar now wants to throw our children to the lions of potential sexual perversion. Will the people of God stand by and let it happen? Not me. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
