(The Hill) The Associated Press on Thursday said it will delete and replace a two-week-old tweet about Hillary Clinton's donors because it "fell short of AP standards."
AP's Vice President of Standards John Daniszewski wrote that the tweet, which was meant to direct the readers to an article about Clinton's frequent meetings with the Clinton Foundation donors, was accused of being misleading by "omitting essential context."
"The tweet sent on Aug. 23 was the subject of criticism from supporters of Clinton, a number of people in the media and others who said it gave a distorted picture of the secretary’s meetings and was not backed up by the AP’s own reporting," he said.

The original tweet read: "BREAKING: AP analysis: More than half those who met Clinton as Cabinet secretary gave money to Clinton Foundation."
