I do understand devotion to country, but most national anthems are stupid. Britain’s is all about the monarch. France’s is all about barricades. Canada’ s is quite different in both official languages.
I understand Colin Kaepernick’s stand is not about the anthem, but protest for a perceived injustice.
I actually think he is wrong but should be able to make that protest. There are still people in America that hate women, blacks, gays, or anything they perceive as different to them and therefore threatening. When this still exists, it is normal to protest.
America is far more than the anthem.
