I don't think Trump lost this round. I think he consistently brought up that establishment politics had created the problems we have, and Hillary identified herself as very establishment.
Donald Trump's appeal is that he is not part of the Washington establishment. He does not believe in business as usual. Hillary, on the other hand, is establishment through and through. He hammered her on the fact that the Democratic Party has consistently promised great things to minorities so as to almost take for granted that they (the Democrats) have those groups in their pocket. Trump brought forward that after years of Democratic control, the plight of these minorities has changed very little. In fact, expressed racism has increased. The unemployment for minorities is far greater than for other ethnic groups. Detroit is a prime example of "Democratic promises and failures."
