(POLITICO) — Donald Trump will publicly release his full medical records, the Republican nominee said Tuesday, a departure from his previous pledge to do so only if Hillary Clinton did the same.
Trump initially told ABC’s David Muir that he would “100 percent” release his medical records if Clinton released hers, to which Muir responded “why not go first?”
“I might do that, I might do that,” Trump replied. “In fact, now that you ask, I think I will do that.”

Trump has thus far released only a letter from his doctor, a gastroenterologist, who wrote that "If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual elected to the presidency.” The doctor added that Trump’s blood pressure and lab results were "astonishingly excellent" and "[h]is physical strength and stamina are extraordinary."
