Hillary Clinton has widened her lead over Donald Trump in several battleground states, while a national poll released Monday shows her leading by six points.

Politico reported its Morning Consult poll of likely voters, conducted partially after the Sept. 26 debate, has Clinton leading 42-36 in a four-way race that includes Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

“It’s a dramatic bump for Clinton: Trump led by one point before the debate,” the report said.

The Real Clear Politics average of national polls has Clinton leading by 2.5 points, with nine polls showing her tied or leading by as many as seven points.

The anomaly is the USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times daily tracking poll, which on Monday had Trump at 47 percent to 42.4 percent for Clinton.

The Times poll tracks about 3,000 eligible voters until Election Day, updating the data each day based on the weighted average of poll responses over the previous week. That means, the Times explains, “results have less volatility than some other polls, but also means the poll lags somewhat in responding to major events in the campaign.”

State polls showed Clinton widening her lead in several battleground states since the Sept. 26 debate, including Florida, Michigan, New Hampshire and Nevada.

In Virginia, Clinton’s lead rose to seven points in the Christopher Newport University poll on Monday. Just hours before the Sept. 26 debate, the survey showed Clinton with a six-point lead in the state.

In Delaware, a Democrat stronghold, the University of Delaware Center for Political Communication poll showed Clinton up 21.

The new polls did not reflect news over the weekend that during the Democratic Party primary, Clinton ridiculed supporters of opponent Bernie Sanders by describing them as living in their parents’ basements.

The Clinton campaign then announced Clinton and Sanders would campaign separately on Monday.

“The split gives the establishment media three days to shift their attention away from Clinton’s recorded speech, where she showed contempt for Sanders’ supporters,” Breitbart commented.

Meanwhile, the New York Times’ reported Sunday it obtained documents from state tax forms showing Trump suffered nearly billion-dollar losses two decades ago. Trump has refused to release his tax documents, which has become standard convention for the candidates of the two leading parties.
