Citing their support for illegal immigration and the rising influx of Muslim refugees, one of the nation’s most hawkish immigration lobbying groups has launched a new strategy to remove John McCain, R-Ariz., and House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., from office.
Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, also called ALIPAC, is endorsing their Democrat opponents in the Nov. 8 general election.
That’s a first for the organization. In its 12-year history ALIPAC has never endorsed a single Democrat.
But it makes sense, said ALIPAC President William Gheen, given the two lawmakers’ persistent support for amnesty for illegals, their support for President Obama’s bulging numbers of Muslim refugees being secretly funneled into hundreds of U.S. cities and towns, and their efforts to elect Hillary Clinton by “undermining the campaign of Donald Trump.”
“If Republicans like McCain and Ryan are going to act like and help Democrats, why not elect Democrats and try for better Republicans next time?” asked Gheen.
In the same vein, Rep. Jim Bridenstine, R-Okla., issued a statement on Twitter Wednesday that if Ryan could not give his full backing to Trump then he could not back Ryan as Speaker. He tweeted the following:
Given the stakes of this election, if Paul Ryan isn’t for Trump, then I’m not for Paul Ryan.
— Jim Bridenstine (@RepJBridenstine) October 12, 2016
ALIPAC endorsed Trump because of his promise to enforce America’s existing immigration and border laws as the Constitution and American public demand, Gheen said.
And CNN reported Wednesday that it’s more than just Bridenstine who is irked by Ryan’s antics, indicating that even if he does win re-election in November the Wisconsin Republican could face a challenge to his speakership over the way he has handled the Trump flap.
Ryan announced Monday he would no longer back Trump in the wake of tapes that surfaced where Trump is heard making sexually offensive remarks about women in a private conversation caught on tape in 2005.
Ryan told CNN he’d rather spend the time to focus on preserving Republican’s hold on Congress
ALIPAC is working to defeat Hillary Clinton and other Democrats who want to turn tens of millions of illegal immigrants and other non-citizens into Democrat voters who are “dependent upon the state for their housing, food, childcare, education, healthcare,” Gheen added.
But in the case of McCain and Ryan, the Democrat alternative could not possibly be any worse than the two entrenched GOP lawmakers, he said.
“ALIPAC is endorsing Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., vs. McCain, and Democrat Ryan Solen vs. Paul Ryan in the hopes of removing them from power before they do more to help dangerous illegal aliens and Muslim refugees enter America,” ALIPAC said in a statement released Wednesday.
Ryan Solen recently told media publications that he is already receiving donations from Republican Trump supporters now that Ryan is trying to pull the rug on Trump to help Hillary Clinton.
Solen claims Republicans deserting Ryan.
“If we elect Democrats in the place of Ryan and McCain, those pro-amnesty Democrats will be far less powerful and less influential than pro-amnesty McCain and Ryan are serving in the majority party,” Gheen told WND.
ALIPAC believes if Republicans want to see Ryan and McCain removed from office, their only choice is to hold their nose and vote Democrat in these two races.
Gheen’s complete statement on the decision to endorse the two Democrats is below:
“We did our best to remove these treasonous politicians McCain and Ryan in the GOP primary, but we could not compete with the incumbents’ vast amount of wealth and advantages in the corporate social and broadcast media. Therefore we are taking the unprecedented step of asking GOP voters to vote for their Democrat challengers only in Wisconsin’s 1st district and in Arizona. We oppose all other Democrats because they all support open borders and amnesty for illegals, but we must remove McCain and Ryan because both will oppose Trump’s immigration enforcement efforts or back Hillary Clinton’s amnesty efforts! This bold new strategy will allow a small group of Republicans that know the deal to rid America of these corrupt politicians and these two seats will not shift the balance of power to the Democrats in the Senate and House!”
Americans for Legal Immigration PAC was founded on 9/11 of 2004 in honor of the victims of 9/11. Since that time the organization has successfully lobbied to defeat amnesty bills in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2014. ALIPAC has also fought to defeat state legislation that would have provided licenses and in-state tuition for illegal aliens in 25 states.
The organization is endorsing 50 incumbent Republicans that share the organization’s opposition to illegal immigration, open borders, amnesty and the increased refugee influx. (Click to view list)
That list rises to 52 endorsements as of Wednesday with the addition of Democrats Kirkpatrick and Solen.
Gheen said ALIPAC will be launching online ads and radio commercials into these races to help sway Republicans to vote Democrat against McCain and Ryan.
