(WASHINGTON TIMES) In a series of seven tweets, Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight expressed his support for Donald Trump in no uncertain terms following a weekend of controversy over the Republican nominee’s “hot mic” comments, made public on Friday.
Mr. Voight is new to Twitter, and has only tweeted 11 times since joining the social media powerhouse in July. He has since amassed almost 20,000 followers.
“I am so ashamed of my fellow actor Bobby De Niro’s rant against Donald Trump. What foul words he used against a presidential nominee, who has worked harder then any other man I know in the past year and a half to get a good message to the American people,” Mr. Voight noted in two initial missives, referring to Robert De Niro’s recent videotaped complaints against the White House hopeful.
