Did you ever look at what’s going on around the world and think, “Nothing is as it seems”?
Sometimes, it’s almost enough to make you swear off politics.
It’s like we live in some kind of parallel universe in which truth and falsehood are inverted.
What sends me off in this dark and confusing direction today?
Lots of things – including the presidential race – but I want to focus in on one specific story that virtually no one in the U.S. understands. Yet, the truth is out there, and it illustrates my point.
I refer to a personal obsession of mine – the killing of an innocent black woman, Miriam Carey, in the nation’s capital by elite federal forces in plain view of the entire nation. And no one has been held accountable.
It’s so strange when you think about it. We heard so much about Michael Brown in Ferguson. Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder were about to federalize every cop in America to prevent future unjustifiable killings by out-of-control local police when their own investigation concluded the police officer in the case reacted reasonably under the circumstances. Since then, there have been other similar cases around the country.
Would you like to catch up on the background of the Miriam Carey case by reviewing WND’s reporting? You can do that for free here. Then, if you are sufficiently outraged by what you see, get Garth Kant’s heroic book, “Capitol Crime,” for the rest of the story that is still unfolding.
There’s a well-funded group called “Black Lives Matter,” but you seldom hear the name Miriam Carey asserted by its activists. Washington talks a great game when it comes to responsible law enforcement, always ready to step in and lay blame on local cops, but where was the U.S. Justice Department when, in its own jurisdiction, Miriam Carey was gunned down, apparently for making a wrong turn near the White House, by Secret Service agents and Washington police?
Only one news organization has systematically investigated this story from the beginning – filing Freedom of Information Act requests to break through the cover-up at the highest levels of government and then suing the Justice Department for years of stonewalling.
Only one reporter has made this case his mission – WND Washington bureau chief Garth Kant. And he has now written a book chronicling the bizarre case and raising perplexing questions about the true motivations of those in government who seem to want to control America’s local police but clearly cannot be trusted to be forthcoming and transparent when it comes to the abuse of those already under their authority.
It’s an important lesson, but it is being obscured by all the hubbub of an election year and the frenzy of a nation that seems more divided than ever before – along racial lines, gender lines and political lines.
Meanwhile, the dramatic and tragic story of Miriam Carey – compelling for all it tells us about official corruption, cover-up and abuse of power – is out there for the public to see if only they could hear it through the noise of a manipulated news cycle where truth and good reporting don’t always count much.
It’s with all this in mind, I introduce you to “Capitol Crime” by Garth Kant, a new release from WND Books that will shock you, make you cry, keep you awake at night and alert you to the truth that no one in power in Washington is telling the truth – about anything.
Do you care about truth?
Do you care about justice?
Do you care about protecting innocent life?
Do you care about guarding personal liberty?
Do you care about the rule of law?
If so, this is a book for you. And the success of this book and the dissemination of this story are critical to restoring the integrity of all of those values in our nation.
If one innocent person can be gunned down in broad daylight by federal police without cause or justification and without consequences for those responsible, America is in danger of becoming a police state.
If it can happen to an innocent black woman with her baby in tow, it can happen to anyone.
Don’t turn your back on this one. Learn the facts – in “Capitol Crime: Washington’s Cover-Up of the Killing of Miriam Carey.”
