‘Rape’ new mantra in presidential contest

Claims that Bill Clinton inflicted rape on women are not new.

But signs at political events making that claim, and shouted statements on network television, are.

Just on Friday, Breitbart reported on the new trend.

The report said a “vocal protester” at a Tim Kaine rally “caused a major scene … yelling out that Bill Clinton was a rapist.”

The protester wore a shirt with an image of Clinton with the word “Rape.”

It was just the latest of several such incidents.

“On Thursday’s Today Show, one man in the background raised a sign about his mother before flipping it to reveal the ‘Bill Clinton is a rapist’ message,” the report said.

Just a day earlier, it was a protester in Canton, Ohio, who hit the former president with the message.

“On Monday, a seemingly average Trump supporter was interviewed live on MSNBC, before he switched his message to declare that ‘Bill Clinton is a Rapist,” the report said.

Even before that, it was a Fox and Friends show that was hit, with a man who “crashed a live shot of the hosts talking about pet dogs shouting ‘Bill Clinton is a rapist.”

WND reported only days ago on the event in Canton, where a woman lifted up the “rapist” sign.

“Bill Clinton has harmed women!” she shouted. “He has raped women!”

The Gateway Pundit said on Thursday “It’s spreading: ‘Bill Clinton a Rapist’ signs on Today Show – Heckler at Tim Kaine Rally!”

The issue of rape has been with the Clintons for years.

It was earlier in the presidential campaign when Hillary Clinton scrubbed from her website a statement support rape victims’ “right to be believed.”

That was after Juanita Broaddrick, who alleges that she was assaulted by Bill Clinton, blasted Hillary Clinton’s posted comment there: “I want to send a message to every survivor of sexual assault: Don’t let anyone silence your voice. You have the right to be heard. You have the right to be believed, and we’re with you.”

Back in the summer, during the Republican National Convention, a T-shirt of Bill Clinton’s face in the style of President Obama’s 23008 HOPE poster, appeared.

Only it had the word “RAPE” instead.

The Guardian reported Donald Trump supporter Roger Stone was the mastermind by the creative effort.

And the issue also has been raised by the GOP candidate, Trump himself.

It was in a summertime interview with Fox’s Sean Hannity.

The Hannity interview came on the heels of a New York Times story on Trump’s treatment of women titled “Crossing the Line: How Donald Trump Behaved With Women in Private.”

According to the Times, “more than 50 interviews were conducted over the course of six weeks, … [with] dozens of women who had worked with or for Mr. Trump over the past four decades, in the worlds of real estate, modeling and pageants; women who had dated him or interacted with him socially; and women and men who had closely observed his conduct since his adolescence.”

Trump addressed the Times story with Hannity by noting Bill Clinton’s own alleged crimes against women.

“For example, I looked at the New York Times. Are they going to interview Juanita Broaddrick? Are they going to interview Paula Jones? Are they going to interview Kathleen Willey?” Hannity asked Trump.

“In one case, it’s about exposure. In another case, it’s about groping and fondling and touching against a woman’s will.”

And Trump interjected, “And rape.”

“And rape,” Hannity repeated.

Trump then cited the “big settlements, massive settlements” reached by Bill Clinton with various women who leveled accusations of sexual assault or worse.

Jones charged that Bill Clinton exposed himself at a Little Rock, Arkansas, hotel in 1991 and Willey has accused Clinton of groping her in 1993. Broaddrick, identified as Jane Doe No. 5 during the Paula Jones trial, claimed in 1999 that Clinton had sexually assaulted and raped her in 1978.

There have been other comments, too.

An Alabama lawmaker, according to AL.com, recently charged that Hillary Clinton is married to a likely “rapist.”

“It is ironic that Lying Hillary blast Trump as a sexist when she is married to Bill, who is likely a rapist,” tweeted Rep. Ed Henry, R-Hartselle.
