(THE HILL) Immigration reform should be one of the first items on the legislative agenda if Hillary Clinton wins the White House, Sen. Charles Schumer (D) said Tuesday.
In an interview with CNBC’s John Hardwood on Tuesday, the New York Democrat was asked what the “sequencing” should be for action on issues like infrastructure, immigration and tax reform.
While the conventional wisdom in Washington has been that Clinton would tackle infrastructure first, Schumer, who is expected to become the leader of Senate Democrats in the next Congress, also cited immigration reform as an early priority.
