WASHINGTON – There have been many firsts in 2016 presidential campaign, and Saturday marked another one.
It was the first time one presidential candidate challenged another to submit to a drug test before the last debate scheduled between the two.
With allegations being raised about Hillary Clinton’s behavior and physical fitness for the highest office in the land, Donald Trump said it was time for the two major candidates to willingly submit to drug testing prior to the debate.
Donald Trump on Saturday called for himself and Hillary Clinton to take a drug test prior to the third presidential debate set for Wednesday night.
“Athletes, they make them take a drug test, right?” Trump asked. “I think we should take a drug test prior to the debate. Why don’t we do that? We should take a drug test, prior, because I don’t know what’s going on with her, but at the beginning of her last debate, she was all pumped up at the beginning, and at the end it was like, ‘Oh, take me down.’ She could barely reach her car.”
Trump said he was willing to take a drug test.
The GOP nominee often raises questions about whether Clinton has the stamina and strength to serve as president. She has fainted on the campaign trail. She has suffered long-lasting coughing jags. She has appeared to suffer from seizures in which her head and eyes move, sometimes alarming onlookers.

Still, she continues to claim she has no major health concerns.
Some observers noted her general behavior and speech pattern in the two earlier debates seemed different from other campaign appearances.
