Are we still a "nation under God"?
Do we still believe, and endorse, what Jefferson penned on our behalf in the Declaration of Independence? "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights"?
Have most of us, any of us, read what He, by His Spirit, says in Romans 13 in the New Testament? "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."

God gave Barack Obama his authority, and he has "ruled" for almost eight years now. Do you like what's been happening? Has the economy rebounded – or has he increased our national debt to $20 trillion – three times more than all previous administrations combined? Has racial strife lessened – or been exacerbated by a half-white, half-black president who had the opportunity to "bring us together"? Has the merciless abortion of innocent unborn children lessened – or been funded limitlessly through Planned Parenthood, with promises of more?
Has our health care been made more available and less expensive to all, as promised? Or has the Obamacare system – created by a Canadian company whose CEO's daughter was Michelle Obama's classmate in her college days – been an unmitigated disaster, whose premiums are set to accelerate dramatically while its author is still in the Oval Office? And will any real accounting ever surface about how the original $600 million was spent by that Canadian company?

Has our prestige and leadership as a country grown – or diminished drastically around the world during the rule of this God-ordained authority the last eight years? Is America still the moral and political envy of liberty-seekers everywhere? Or are other leaders in lesser nations laughing up their sleeves at the confusing, contradictory, increasingly rudderless and weak "land of the free and home of the brave"?
Did God really ordain this government, this authority? Yes, He did: His word says so!

Why? Because, though He loves this country so much, and everybody in it, we have collectively shoved Him aside, disregarded His Word, His expressed will, and let him know we'd rather do things our own way. In effect, we've said, "We can take it from here, God – if there is a God, we're not so sure anymore. There are political and social things we'd like to enshrine and embody, and your old ideas don't appeal to us any longer."
Just last year, at a publicized women's conference on the subject of abortion, Hillary Clinton actually said, "Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed."
Where do those "cultural codes and religious beliefs" come from? From God, in His Word, which has never changed and never will. In Proverbs 6, there's a short list of seven things God hates, things that are detestable to Him – and one is "hands that shed innocent blood." And in the third debate, Hillary defended late-term, minutes before delivery abortion as "protecting women's health."
For these and so many other reasons, God's people across America were stirred into action. Millions began to come to their senses, realizing that through inattention and apathy, America was being steered by her elected government into a chaotic, worldly, insensitive, corrupted and increasingly decadent nightmare. In churches and conferences and home meetings and Christian TV programs across the land, the believers in God were crying out to Him and beseeching Him according to 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people , who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
"My people, called by my name." What is His name? JEHOVAH.

There are other gods, called by other names. But they are not JEHOVAH.
In the last year, as we faced a stark choice and a likely descent into more unbridled rebellion against God's will for America, millions of us repented of our sinful apathy and permission of perversion in our midst, and sought God's face and prayed for Him to heal our land!
And, as He promised, He heard from heaven and has given us authority to heal our land. He chose a most unlikely man to lead us and bestowed authority on him, and on us, to begin the healing and restoration of America to former greatness.
Some may say, "What about separation of church and state?" Well, listen to what the first chief justice of the Supreme Court, John Jay (appointed by President Washington) said about that:

"Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers."
And by the way, Jay was president of the American Bible Society. He knew the "wall of separation" his friend Thomas Jefferson mentioned was intended to keep government's grimy hands off our religious life, but never our religious beliefs out of our governance or our laws. This is historical fact.
Friend, the sleeping giant has stirred, awakened and spoken.
We now realize God gave us what we said "we" wanted. And He let us see where that would lead us, as it had the rebellious people of Israel when they demanded "a king like the nations around us." They got what they wanted – and wound up in Babylonian captivity for 70 years. But when they came to their senses and cried out to Him, God brought them back to their land and re-established their nation.
In America, God's people who are called by His name have repented, sought His face and prayed, and He has given us a new opportunity for leadership and liberty. Let's not blow it again!
