The U.S. military owns 16 so-called "doomsday planes," a powerful aircraft that holds the capability to launch nuclear missiles. It was designed to serve as a flying command center in the event of a nuclear war.
The plane traveled across several states, changed directions numerous times and eventually landed in Oklahoma.

Users on Twitter speculated that the plane's flight could have been a show of strength to Russia or even a response to the election of President-elect Donald Trump.
