NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
An East Precinct police officer was shot in the shoulder while trying to serve a warrant at the Cumberland Inn on Tuesday morning, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
The officer was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The police department has not released the officer's name.
Metro PD says the suspected gunman was found dead in the motel room with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
