Mr. Farah,
You mentioned Jack Van Impe in your column, “What happened about 2017 years ago?”Â
It made me recall that when I was an elementary school kid in the ’70s, there was a huge billboard at a street intersection in our town advertising the Van Impe Crusade. It had great
big letters on a sun-yellow background (accompanied by a larger-than-life image of him, too). It was very impressive, and I thought this must be an important guy, but like most kids that age, my curiosity did not go beyond that. Unlike a number of his contemporaries, he was one televangelist who was not brought down by scandals, self-inflicted or otherwise.
It’s an excellent column you wrote, and I think your background story lent a lot of strength to it.
Best to you and your family in the New Year,
Patrick Cloutier
