(EXAMINER) President Obama will advise congressional Democrats this week on ways to “counter” the Republican plan for repealing the Affordable Care Act, press secretary Josh Earnest said Tuesday.
“The stakes are high, and I know that particularly at this time when there’s a lot of discussion about the president’s legacy, that some people might think that, well, the president is very concerned about the political capital that he’s invested in this and he doesn’t want to see it go away,” Earnest said.
But protecting the millions of Americans covered under the healthcare law remains Obama’s top motivation, he argued.
