Obama’s hissy fits are as petulant and selective as they are pathetic. His latest charade of a “leader” came when he announced sanctions against Russia for supposedly influencing the 2016 presidential election. The translation is that Russia worked to rig the election so that Donald Trump would win.
He used an executive order to carry out his schizophrenic temper tantrum, which also included declaring 35 Russian diplomats persona non grata, giving them 72 hours to leave the country with their families. This in addition to shuttering two Russian compounds in Maryland and New York.
But let’s step back and take a cogent look at Obama’s latest series of lies and staged theatrics. Obama’s problem isn’t Russia; his problem is that Hillary lost the election (and the recounts) to Trump when all of the liberal progressive wisdom had her winning in a landslide.
Specific to that very point, when Mr. Trump raised concerns pursuant to the election being rigged, Obama lashed out at him. In October, literally only days before the election, speaking at a rally for Hillary Clinton, Obama swung at Mr. Trump, saying: “This is just more than the usual standard lie. That is not a joking matter. That is dangerous, because when you try to sow the seeds of doubt in other people’s minds about the legitimacy of our elections, that undermines our democracy.” It’s worth noting that America is not a democracy, but I digress.
The New York Times reported: “The Obama administration said on Friday that despite Russian attempts to undermine the presidential election, it has concluded that the results accurately reflect the will of the American people.” (“U.S. Officials Defend Integrity of Vote, Despite Hacking Fears,” David E. Sanger, Nov. 25, 2016)
There isn’t a snowball’s chance at the equator that Obama would have engaged in such histrionics against Russia if Clinton had won. He and others were so certain that their standard machinations used to subvert elections would prevail that they were unable to even consider the outrage voters harbored for him and his agenda – and by association for Clinton as well.
For the sake of argument, what if Russia did somehow hack the election? What did they publish that wasn’t true? Were the emails Julian Assange and WikiLeaks released false? No, they weren’t. Once again, for the sake of discussion only, is Obama’s complaint that if Russia hadn’t gotten involved Clinton would have prevailed because her duplicitous lies and complicit media cover-up wouldn’t have been exposed? What about the dead people who voted? There are reports of dead people voting in Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles and Oklahoma. (See: “Report: ‘Hundreds’ of Dead Voters Found Voting In California,” Joel B. Pollak, Breitbart.com, May 25, 2016.) What about the over 3 million illegal aliens who voted? Many of them did so so at the behest of Obama himself, who said if they voted they were citizens. Are the Russians to be blamed for these things?
The idea of the Russians interfering in our election is an Obama lie, but what isn’t a lie is that Obama spent $350,000 of taxpayer money to prevent the Israeli prime minister from being re-elected in 2015. The money was used, amongst other things, to hire a political consulting firm with ties to Obama. (See: “Obama Admin. Sent Taxpayer Money To Campaign To Oust Netanyahu,” Stephen Dinan, Washington Times, July 12, 2016.)
Even more egregious, Obama used taxpayer money to sabotage the election in Israel at a time when over 90 million Americans were permanently unemployed and more than 48 million were receiving food stamps. Yet he has the unmitigated gall to falsely accuse Russia in a transpicuous attempt to diminish and delegitimize the presidency of Mr. Trump.
In the speech announcing the sanctions, deportations, etc., Obama claimed that Russia had been hacking for 10 years. A logical question then would be: Did Russia help get Obama elected? I remind you of Obama being caught on an open microphone telling Russian President Medvedev that he would have more flexibility after he was re-elected. What was he promising Medvedev? Was it a quid pro quo for Russia’s help to get him re-elected? Why would we believe one thing today and not the same thing from that incident?
Fox News personality and syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said Obama was “semi-delusional” and has inflicted “incalculable damage on the Democrat Party.” I agree and applaud the damage Obama has inflicted upon the Democrats, but I submit he is not semi-delusional; rather he is clinically delusional.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova in advance of the announced sanctions said: “[Russia] is tired of lies about Russian hackers that continue to be spread in the United States from the very top.” She should know that We the People of America are even more tired of the lies coming from the “top,” more than she can ever be.
