A black student organization at the University of Michigan is demanding that whites be banned from their "space," insisting that a new $10-million race-centric facility under development isn't sufficient.
And an author of a new book on how whites are being treated on university and college campuses warns that the future will see more and more such demands.

The College Fix reported the organization, called Students4Justice, is insisting campus officials provide them with "a permanent designated space on central campus for black students and students of color to organize and do social justice work."
They complain that the university president, Mark Schlissel, hasn't complied with their orders.

"The clamor for a segregated space for students of color to organize social justice efforts comes even as the public university builds a $10 million center for black students in the center of campus," the report said. "In their demands, students explain why the new black student center is not enough, 'because we want a space solely dedicated to community organizing and social justice work specifically for people of color.'"

Scott Greer, a Daily Caller editor and columnist who wrote "No Campus For White Men," warned that it won't be the last demand for a race-based society on campus.
"The idea that left-wing activists now want spaces free of all white people is the natural result of what I describe in 'No Campus for White Men,'" he told WND. "Animosity for whites is on the rise on college campuses, and we're only going to see more efforts like this."
The student group didn't respond to College Fix requests for comment. A spokesman for the school said the demand was being addressed through the school's normal process.
The independent student Michigan Review had condemned the idea.
"The same organization that criticizes the university for failing to create 'an environment that engages in diversity, equity and inclusion' is calling upon the university to undermine these ideals by facilitating a sort of de facto segregation? One where space and resources are designated for students based solely on the color of their skin?" the Review wrote.

"To advocate for the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion, while simultaneously calling upon the university to sanction these spaces on campus is both unprincipled and laughably regressive," it added.
The College Fix said the students first insisted the school meet their demands last fall. They renewed their campaign recently.
They are insisting on affirmative action for "Black, Arab and other PoC" among tenured faculty.
They also want more money.

On Facebook, they complain of being ignored and deny that their demands are "rude."
"We are calling on someone to care about students' concerns and to lead us with integrity and help us fight against the oppression and hateful acts that try to destroy us and our community," they claim.
The statement prompted a pointed response from a Facebook commenter, Dan Johnson: "Your organization is extremely racist. You need to stop looking at skin color PERIOD! It is what is in the hearts and minds of men and women that count. Finally, you are at a public university making demands that violate 1st Amendment rights of individuals.
"Learn to work within the system of constitutional laws and stop your extremism."
