Child sacrifice is not, never has been, and never will be a political issue. The giving and taking of human life is a matter that is exclusively theological in nature.
As any student of history is well aware, child sacrifice represents the line of demarcation between cultures that are civilized or barbaric in nature. The Inca and Aztec peoples engaged in child sacrifice as a necessity to ensure the continued prosperity of their culture by summoning rain for the fields.

Primeval Chinese peoples were known to toss babies into the river, while Carthaginians similarly sacrificed their offspring to appease their primitive gods. There is even evidence that this practice is embraced by contemporary African cultures in Uganda, where witch doctors bring the blood and body parts of the young to be consumed by the spirits."
It is nearly impossible to imagine any American would use any word other than "barbaric" to define these cultural customs. The average American would react with disgust, shock, horror and despair.

Sadly, this is hypocrisy.
Since the landmark Roe v. Wade case in 1973, the United States has amassed nearly 60 million unique instances of child sacrifice, a number that is 10 times greater than the Jewish lives lost during the Holocaust of World War II.

In fact, the number of American lives lost during this self-inflicted national holocaust exceeds the entire population of all but 23 of the 194 sovereign nations in the world. It also exceeds the total population of the Aztec and Inca civilizations – combined. Even worse, there is no end in sight.
Abortion is modernized child sacrifice, a practice that welcomes our culture among the ranks of the barbarian hordes.
We know this from recent scientific discoveries.
Science proves that a baby in process of development has its own unique DNA coding. Science confirms that the heart begins to beat within the first three weeks of pregnancy. Science even reveals a brilliant flash of light at the very moment that a sperm fertilizes an egg!
How can a community that esteems science with such a hyper-religious zeal have no qualms about turning a blind eye to these remarkable scientific discoveries? Why does this community continue to champion child sacrifice in America when the science disproves its supported position?

The child sacrifice issue exposes a fissure in the secular worldview. We must further investigate these questions as we search for discernment into this apparent contradiction.
Put simply, science represents the existing state of knowledge and the subsequent pursuit of understanding in the material realm. Science represents our current understanding of humanity and the surrounding environment using an anthropocentric predisposition. Since the abstract and the spiritual fall outside of the material realm, these subjects are generally ignored by the scientific community.
While science represents a state of human understanding, it also doubles as an object of worship in our culture. When campaigning for president, Hillary Clinton openly declared, "I believe in science!" before the thunderous applause of thousands of like-minded supporters.
This statement is a symbolic profession. Again, science is the pursuit of human understanding. If an individual believes in (worships) human understanding, then the categorical object of their affinity becomes the human mind.

If someone worships his own understanding, then by definition, he worships himself. In this capacity, the intellectual community is merely using science as a convenient label to conceal the object of its true affinity.
This takes us to the intersection at which child sacrifice emerges as the highest sacrament of a secular worldview.
If man is the center of the universe, how can something else be the author and creator of life?
On the one hand, the secular community can select the painful option of rejecting the notion that man is the most significant entity in the universe. On the other, it can distressingly reject the same scientific advancements it so boldly claims to profess.
Faced with the inconvenient scientific data and a general unwillingness to release control to an authority that lies perpetually beyond its senses, the secular community chooses to sacrifice science upon the very altar of its own worldview.
Christians must understand that secular fundamentalists view man (and woman) as the author and creator life. Their conviction in this worldview is so hardened that they do not object to the slaughter of millions of innocent babies to preserve their very belief structure. Not only do they not object to it, they ardently promote it throughout every aspect of the culture!
This is the essential reason why child sacrifice has become the highest sacrament of a humanistic worldview. Preserving child sacrifice has nothing to do with anything other than the notion that man is God.
There is tremendous spiritual significance in this theological issue. To rebrand it as a political issue merely represents a creative attempt to abort God from the culture.
It is long overdue that we understand the biblical significance of defending the rights of God's most precious creation. Repealing Roe would land a critical blow upon this already flailing ideology. The time for the courage in our convictions is now!
