The president of the United States has appointed Mark Green to be the next secretary of the Army. Green is currently a Tennessee state senator and has a superlative background. He spent 20 years on active duty and has served as an Army special operations flight surgeon. Most notably, he participated in the 2003 raid that sieved out and subjected Saddam Hussein. As a result of his consummate support for democracy and liberty, Green was appointed by the president and also received support from Defense Secretary Jim Mattis:
"He had my full support during the selection process, and he will have my full support during the Senate confirmation process," Mattis said. "I am confident of Mark's ability to effectively lead the Army."
However, Green is not being lauded by everyone for the faithful discharge of his military duties, or his tenure as a Tennessee state senator. In fact, there are a few homosexual-affirming pundits that are not excoriating him for his military service record, his intellectual competency, or his passion for selfless service – they are censuring him because he does not support the same-sex agenda.

According to Stephen Peters, Human Rights Campaign spokesman and a former Marine discharged under the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy: "Mark Green's radical and extreme views about LGBT people, including those in uniform, would send an incredibly dangerous message down the chain of command. …"
Peters seems unaware of his own hypocrisy when he alleges that Green's views about homosexual people is sending a dangerous message down to the chain of command. Here are a few questions for Peters: Did you decry Eric Fanning, the previous Army secretary, when he served in the Obama administration? If you did not, why not? Is it because Fanning was the first openly gay service secretary?

If Peters did not criticize Fanning, who was gay, but is now criticizing Green, who believes that marriage is a monogamous union between a man and a woman, then Peters has reiterated yet another message to the populace in America: that homosexuals love to cry tolerance, but once someone disagrees with them, they will espouse just how intolerant they are toward those who disagree with them. This is why I believe that Peters' message is: If a chain of command does not embrace homosexuality, then their views are "radical, extreme and incredibly dangerous."
Peters is not the only homosexual who aspires to see Green removed simply because he does not affirm same-sex attraction.

The American Military Partner Association (AMPA), considered to be the largest organization in support of sexually immoral military personnel, is also lambasting Green by accusing him of making "a shameful political career out of targeting LGBT people for discrimination." In addition, the president of the association, Ashley Broadway-Mack, has pejoratively asserted:
"… all soldiers and their families, including those who are LGBT, should have confidence that the secretary of the Army has their back and is working for their best interest. Unfortunately, based on his vicious, anti-LGBT record, Mark Green cannot be trusted to ensure all those who serve have the support they need and deserve."
It is ironic that Broadway-Mack mentions "all soldier and their families," when this is clearly not her agenda. She is not chiding or using demagoguery toward Green for his lack of competence toward all soldiers and families that are not homosexual. The AMPA mission statementLGBT service members and veterans –our nation's modern military families."
If Broadway-Mack were intellectually honest, she would simply revile Green for publicly denouncing sexual immorality. Nevertheless, Broadway-Mack's provocations do not prove that Green will not care for all soldiers – since there is no evidence that appears to allegedly incriminate Green for constitutional malfeasance or misfeasance. Green simply does not agree with same-sex marriage.
Sen. Green does have a historical record of encouraging cities and counties to prohibit marriage licenses to same-sex couples and has been transparent about how he feels about sexual immorality. This is commendable, since Green is remaining steadfast to his beliefs, which are protected by the Constitution.

Despite the requests for Green to be removed from his new appointment, the Army Times reports on how he plans to serve in this new official capacity:
"I was nominated by President Trump to do one job: serve as his secretary of the Army," Green said Tuesday in a statement to Army Times. "If confirmed, I will solely focus on making recommendations to him on how to keep our country safe and secure. Politics will have nothing to do with it."
Service members and American citizens who affirm the Bible as their ultimate, self-attesting standard, one that affirms marriage between one man and one woman, need to pray for Green. The position of the Army secretary comes with a heavy responsibility, and if there is ever going to be revival in America, it must start with men like Mark Green who embrace integrity, not immorality.
Also, pray for homosexuals in America who seem to care more about same-sex practice then they do selfless service. Pray that Christ will grant them repentance (Luke 13:3) and salvation from their sexually immoral lifestyle.
