Rita Dunaway, in her column “Join me in breaking up with Starbucks,” proposed that pro-lifers should boycott Starbucks because of the chain’s backing of Planned Parenthood.
She wrote: “One woman’s boycott won’t keep a penny of funding from abortion, but if every pro-lifer were to join me, I know we could make a difference.”
As a Christian, I absolutely disagree with her!
The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 10:4: “The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”
Instead of boycotting Starbucks, we Christian pro-lifers need to invade Starbucks restaurants, buy cups of coffee and then sit together, holding hands and praying for the company. Pray for Executive Chairman Howard Schultz, CEO Kevin Johnson and their families. Pray for the local Starbucks staff. Cry out to God to have mercy on Starbucks.
Our duty as sons of light is to use God’s power to set the captives free from darkness, whether they are in Starbucks, Facebook, Apple, or wherever. To do less than this is to wave a white flag, surrendering generations of Americans to the kingdom of darkness.
