Bolduan asked if it scared him at all that Trump may have shared sensitive information with Russian officials.

"I've been sitting here quietly listening to all this B.S., quite frankly. Did you listen to anything [White House National Security Adviser H.R.] McMaster said today?" Higbie responded. "Where he said, 'I was in the room, that didn't happen?'"

Higbie was alluding to comments from McMaster, who explained Trump's discussion with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak was "wholly appropriate."
He then took a shot at media outlets such as CNN who were using anonymous sources who were supposedly "knowledgable of the situation."
"You're basing all of these allegations off of one or maybe two sources," Higbie noted. "Two former officials? Come out, name those people, then we'll have something to talk about."
Bolduan listed other news agencies with similar reports using anonymous sources, including the Washington Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, ABC and NBC.

"Yeah, but who are the sources? Oh, because they're hiding behind this anonymity," Higbie responded.
That's when Bolduan erupted with visible anger, shouting back at Higbie and clapping her hands together in rage.
"Oh, puh-lease! Puh-lease! Bolduan exclaimed. "Do not even start with me, that you're just going to attack sources. That is ridiculous!"

"So you're saying McMaster is lying," Higbie fired back.
"I'm not saying McMaster is lying. He didn't answer the question," Bolduan said. "You cannot attack, do not attack the stellar reporters of CNN, who have their sources and would protect their sources."

Not intimidated by Bolduan's finger-pointing, Higbie then did the very thing he was told not to.
"OK, the stellar reporters of CNN that I am going to attack right now and say: 'Guess what? I don't believe them because they are staying anonymous,'" he said. "If they stand behind the story, come out, face the camera."
"We have anonymous sources, we protect them for real reasons, so the information that is important to the public can get out," Bolduan concluded.

Bolduan's meltdown got the attention of Tucker Carlson of the Fox News Channel, who played the video of the confrontation on his program Tuesday night, then noted: "A lot of cable panels have unfolded like this recently and that is a shame because ... the world is a very complicated place, Washington especially."
"What you think is happening often really isn't happening," Carlson added.
